ISTANBUL

Istanbul, Byzantium, Costantinople is a city with thousand colours and perfumes that has always fascinated people of every historical period. First of all capital city of the Eastern Roman Empire and then of the Ottoman Empire, it is a city full of history and charm in every corner. Istanbul is the only city in the world located in the middle of two continents: Europe and Asia, in within passes the Bosporus River, on its shore there are the most beautiful and luxurious palaces and mansions of the city.
When we first arrived we did the check-in in the hotel and then we suddenly walked through the city.

WHAT TO SEE:       

• The Galata Tower: it was constructed by Genoeses in 1384. Grow it up and enjoy the view from above.
•  The Topkapi Palace: it is the realm of the Sultan, a city inside the city (inside of it, it is possible to visit the Harem and the treasure of the Ottoman Sultans).
• The Blue Mosque.
•  Saint Sophia: it was constructed with the order of the Emperor Justinian in 537. It is wonderful, marvellous, majestic, breathtaking…I don’t know other adjectives to describe its eternal beauty!
•  The underground roman cistern or Basilica Cistern: it was constructed with the order of the Emperor Justinian in 532. It is a majestic, underground building supported by 336 columns with capitals and stones cut in a position to contain 80.000 cubic meters of water!
•  The hippodrome.
• The archaeological museum: it is worth to visit!
• The Egyptian market of spices.
• The Gran Bazaar: it is the biggest covered market in the world

WHERE TO SLEEP:

Point Hotel Taksim: this hotel is in the “new city”. The bedrooms are clean and up-to-date. The services are excellent: wi-fi, bottles of water in the bedrooms and intercontinental breakfast. The staff is very kind and helpful.

WHERE TO EAT:

•  Raika restaurant: this restaurant is on the top floor of the Marmara Hotel and offers the most beautiful view of the city! Wonderful!
•   Zarifi: it is the right place to spend an evening in good food and entertainment’s name with belly dance and live music. A place where, once finished to have dinner, food is replaced with dancing and party!
•   Asitane Restaurant:: it is a restaurant in which you can eat as Sultana! And not only to be said...in fact, the chefs prepare the courses contained in the recipe books of the Sultans of the XV and XVI centuries! 

Istanbul, Bisanzio, Costantinopoli è una città dai mille colori e profumi che ha da sempre affascinato i popoli di tutte le epoche. Dapprima capitale dell'impero Romano d'Oriente e poi dell'impero Ottomano è una città ricca di storia e fascino che trasuda da ogni suo angolo. Istanbul è l'unica città al mondo posta tra due continenti: l'Europa e l'Asia al cui interno scorre il fiume Bosforo, sulle cui sponde sorgono i palazzi e le ville più lussuose e belle della città.
Appena entrati in città siamo rimasti affascinati e non appena fatto chek-in in hotel ci siamo immediatamente messi in moto per iniziare a visitarla...

COSA VEDERE:

•  la torre di galata: fatta costruire dai Genovesi nel 1384 .Salite in cima e godetevi la città dall'alto.
•  il palazzo Topkapi: la reggia del sultano, una città dentro la città ( al cui interno si può visitare l'harem e il tesoro dei sultani ottomani )
• la Moschea Blu
• Santa Sofia : fatta costruire dall'imperatore Giustiniano nel 537 è meravigliosa, stupenda, imponente, mozzafiato..non so quali altri aggettivi usare per descriverla
• la cisterna romana sotterranea o Cisterna Basilica: fatta costruire dall'imperatore Giustiniano nel 532 è un'imponente edificio sotterraneo sorretta da ben 336 colonne con capitelli e pietre scolpite in grado di contenere ben 80.000 metri cubi d'acqua!
•  l'ippodromo
•  il museo archeologico: da visitare assolutamente!
• mercato egiziano delle spezie
• gran Bazaar: il mercato coperto più grande al mondo

DOVE DORMIRE:

Point Hotel Taksim. L'hotel si trova nella "città nuova". Camere pulite e moderne. I servizi sono ottimi: connessione internet gratuita, bottiglie d'acqua in camera e colazione intercontinentale. Personale gentilissimo e molto disponibile.

DOVE MANGIARE:

• Raika restaurant: questo ristorante si trova all'ultimo piano del Marmara Hotel  e offre la più bella vista di tutta la città! Stupendo!
•  Zarifi: il locale giusto per passare una serata all'insegna del buon cibo e del divertimento con danza del ventre e musica dal vivo. Un locale dove finita la cena il cibo lascia il posto al ballo e alla festa!
• Asitane Restaurant: un ristorante dove si mangia da Sultani! E non è solo per dire..le ricette cucinate dagli chefs fanno parte dei ricettari dei sultani del 1400- 1500!

SüDTIROL DAY ONE: NEVES STAUSEE and CHEMNITZER HüTTE

Hi! we spent a fantastic week in Sudtirol. The first day we decided to walk from Neves Stausee to Chemnitzer Hütte  We left the car near Neves Stausee and then we proceeded on the way number 24 till Chemnitzer Hütte. The walk is quite easy, you can choose between two ways: a mule track or the "wood way".

Ciao! abbiamo trascorso una fantastica settimana in Alto Adige. Il primo giorno abbiamo deciso di camminare dal Lago di Neves fino al Chemnitzer Hütte  Abbiamo lasciato la macchima vicino al Lago di Neves e abbiamo seguito il percorso numero 24 fino al Chemnitzer Hütte  La camminata è piuttosto facile, si può scegliere tra la mulattiera o il taglio nel bosco.

LAGO D'ISEO & MONTE ISOLA

We spent a wonderful day at Lake Iseo. It is located in Val Camonica, near Brescia and Bergamo. It is an idyllic landscape and in the middle of the lake you can visit Monte Isola. Monte Isola is the largest lake island in Italy. 

I deeply suggest to take the ferry-boat to Monte Isola and walk in all the island.

Abbiamo trascorso una piacevole giornata al lago d'Iseo. Il lago d'Iseo si trova in Val Camonica fra Brescia e Bergamo. Un paesaggio idilliaco che ospita la più grande isola lacustre naturale d'Italia: Monte Isola. Consiglio vivamente di prendere il traghetto che porta a Monte Isola e di girarla tutta a piedi.

RHODES

Rhodes is the largest island of the Dodecanese (Greece). It is located in the Aegean Sea. This amazing island is historically famous for the Colossus of Rhodes: one of the seven wonders of the ancient world! The medieval old town of Rhodes' city has been declared a world heritage site.

This is the perfect place in wich you can relax and also enjoy yourself.

Rodi è la più grande isola del Dodecaneso (Grecia) ed è situata nel mare Egeo. Questa favolosa isola è famosa storicamente per il Colosso di Rodi: una delle sette meraviglie del mondo antico! La città medievale di Rodi è stata inoltre dichiarata patrimonio dell'umanità.

Questo è il posto perfetto dove rilassarsi e divertirsi allo stesso tempo.

COSTIERA AMALFITANA - AMALFI COAST

The Amalfi Coast is one of the most beautiful and certainly peculiar coastline in all the world. 

UNESCO considers the Amalfi Coast "World heritage" thanks to its wonderful  natural scenic and  mediterrean landscape. This coast takes the name from the city of Amalfi (thanks to its historical evolution).

WHERE TO SLEEP:
I hearthly reccomend this hotel:  Le Agavi in Positano.

La Costiera Amalfitana è uno dei tratti di costa più belli e sicuramente il più caratteristico del mondo. Patrimonio dell'umanità secondo l'UNESCO offre degli scorci e dei panorami meravigliosi. Prende il nome dalla città di Amalfi (una delle quattro repubbliche marinare).

NEW YORK - THE BIG APPLE

New York – The Big Apple is one of the cult cities of the USA. Every season of the year is good to visit it: from Christmas to August, from Spring to Autumn, this metropolis pleases every tourist.

City of entertainment, show business, fashion, but also of economy and culture, it is the location of some of the most important and famous museums all over the world.
